BEAUTY | Hair Rut & History

*First of, a quick apology for no recent posts. My laptop keyboard has stopped working, but I've now bought a USB keyboard so I can get going again. With uni starting I may actually have things to blog about!*

I'm in a bit of a hair rut. I've been bleach blonde teetering on lilac/grey for about a year now (with stints of pastel pink panels in between) and I think I'm bored. My hair isn't in the best of conditions from all the bleaching and use of heat so I've been considering growing my hair out. I had quite a bit of root-age but on a very eat my own weight in ice-cream kinda night, I flaked and bleached them in an attempt to make myself feel a bit better.
Check these bad boys out!

My issue is, I feel my hair is the only good or interesting thing about me, and if I grow my hair out, I'll feel boring. I know it's the best thing to do for my hairs health, but it scares me! So if anyone wants to convince me I won't look like a twat with growing out/almost ombre hair, then please do.

I figure while I'm talking about my hair, I may aswell give you a brief insight to the things I've put my hair through. (warning, this next bit is picture heavy).

So I'm probably about 8/9 here, so this is my hair pretty much untouched (minus my mum putting red streaks in my hair for red nose day). I wish my natural colour was still like this!

Sorry for the terrible quality of this one, I cant find the card to take a new photo of it. This was first year of high school, I'd tried to dye my darkening hair lighter, but the dye made me a wee bit ginge,

To combat my ginger problem i chopped all my hair off and dyed it black. As you do.
Emo phase commence.

This is basically just the same hair as above but longer, but I wanted to share just how lame of a teenager I was. Also the lovely girl with me is Kayleigh from Wonderchebs (She has a fashion and lifestyle blog, and she is gorgeous! give her a visit).

As my hair grew I started dying it red so I ened up with a strange red-black ombre effect. I quite like this still!

And then I got bored. So I chopped all my hair off once again, bleached it and put pink through it. (By this point I am around 14)

I popped purple in with the pink (and took photos of myself Grace-facing before I knew daily grace existed)

Changed the pink to blue, wasn't too keen on this.

Tried to bleach out all the colour, so I could be blonde. This made my hair a horrible condition hence the next hairstyle. (also Kayleigh again!)

After another bleaching session, my hair all snapped. I ended up shoving the only colour we had in the house on it, Purple blast, just to give my super porous hair something to suck up.

I ended up going brown so I didn't have to worry about dying roots etc, causing more damage.

After about 6 months of being brunette, I ended up getting highlights. I didn't feel myself being brunette.
I kept getting highlights, more and more and ended up pretty much bleach blonde again.

and so I did this
Pink! This is when my hair was at its healthiest. I love this hair, it'll always be my favourite I think. I stayed like this for about 2 years.

I had a brief stint at a purple-head but promptly returned to being a pinky.

I was pink untill about a week before my prom, so may 2011. I've pretty much had the same cut since I was 13, just grown out a little bit.

I stayed blonde (with some purple shampoo accidents which resulted in streaky lilac bits) but cut a block fringe in. Now I loved this when I first did it, but I soon missed my side fringe.
I ended up bored of the white, so purple with pink underneath happened.

and wanted to do half and half hair, but didn't quite have the guts to go the full whack.

This is around a month ago, so my hair is similar but super patchy. I have to wear my fringe up because its an almost-grown out block fringe, but keeps snapping due to bleaching so is choppy.

Well that's that then.
Through writing this, I've gotten more up for going brown-blonde ombre. so you may see a post on that soon! Maybe not...

Anyone else done a post like this? I love reading them so leave me a link.

12 for 2012

While 2012 wasn't the best of years it still had some lovely moments. While looking back on 2012 and becoming awfully upset about some of last years low points, I realised I was breaking my first resolution : Be more positive, rid yourself of any opportunity to be negative. And so I decided to look through some photographs to remind me of all the good bits.

So here goes, 12 photographs that bring back some good memories:

We began the year by finally seeing my favorite band, Brand New. Complete dream come true.

We explored Edinburgh, and I discovered it wasn't as bad as I thought (still can't wait to get out of here though!)

We spent as much time in Shetland as possible, and I taught Liam to use his camera...kinda.

We ate waaaaaay too much.

We went to Liam's uncle's/aunty's wedding, which was beautiful.

We moved out of our beloved first flat. But gained a new bigger flat.

We said goodbye to old friends who were off to new homes that could help them more

but gained some new friends!

I discovered my love for lipstick

and turned to baking as a stress reliever.

and finally, we had our first Christmas by ourselves.

So that it. Goodbye 2012, you were alright but I do hope 2013 is better.

Goodluck for the future everyone!
